Interstellar Dust Particles 

Interstellar dust particles range from a millimeter (10 -1 centimeter) in diameter with a mass of one milligram (10 -3 gram) to 10 -7 centimeters in diameter with a mass of 10 -21 grams.  The sizes, composition, and optical properties of 10 -3 to 10 -6 grams dust particles has been evaluated.  For dusts particles with masses from 10 -9 to 10 -21 grams, the particles masses have been correlated the density of the particle in space.
