United
States Government Funding According to the February 2002
issue of Physics Today, the United States funding for Physics Related
Research & Development will exceed $103.7 Billion. This is an increase $12.3
billion or 13.5 percent over fiscal year 2001. The
scientific community receives a small fraction of the funds for doing World-Class research
with remaining funds are split between defense and administration. The
economic benefits are almost are none existent. Many people believe
that the government shouldn't be spending money on research &
development because the don't see any benefit to humanity. United

The government should
providing
leadership and partnering with business & educational organizations to conduct research & development for the
mutual benefit of humanity. People within government, business and
education organizations are held accountable to outcome
performance objectives & measures rather than just spending money & asking
for more.
