News Release 20
Sun, Planets, Earth, Asteroids & Meteors are composed of Matter
Tuesday, May 29, 2001

The sun is one of the billions of matter stars in the Milky Way Galaxy.  There is a similar number of antimatter stars with planets.  The sun contains approximately 98% of the total solar system mass.  The Sun is about 4.5 billion years old and has a mass of equal to 1.3 million Earths.
The picture shows the nine planets in our solar system.
We live on spaceship earth, the third plant from the sun. Note the size of earth compared with the other planets.

The glossary astronomical terms and proper names are defined.  Scientists and astronomers should be familiar with the information, but there are a few interesting tidbits.
