Harrison Schmitt, Guest Breakfast Speaker

Dr. Harrison
(Jack) Schmitt, Apollo 17 Moonwalker
& former U.S. Senator from New Mexico, was the guest breakfast speaker
at the Executives Breakfast Club of Oak Brook on October 19, 2001.
Dr.
Schmitt
talked was entitled "To the Moon and Beyond" with insights on energy.
He gave an excellent presentation on his trip
to the moon and the need for continuing to explore space. One
reason was to use helium from the moon as a source of
energy for fusion reactors. Another opportunity, from the audience, was to
use of
antimatter from comets as a natural source of energy to enable the second
&
third world countries to move into the 21st century without destroying our environment
and turn the Star Trek Dream into Reality.
